For one, green tea has been found to enhance muscle recovery following intense workouts. Better muscle recovery can boost muscle growth. Green tea also helps with joint tissue regeneration. This can help you train harder without being slowed down by joint pain. That can obviously help with muscle growth in the long run. Tea has also been found to blunt levels of the catabolic hormone cortisol. Since cortisol competes with testosterone, keeping it down can enhance testosterone's anabolic : Take about 500 mg of green tea extract standardized for EGCG three times daily before meals.
Those who believe in the use of DHEA claim that it relieves the menopausal symptoms described above without increasing the risk of breast cancer or cancer of the endometrium (lining to the uterus). The risk of each of these cancers may be increased with regular, prescription hormone replacement therapy. There is no proof, however, that DHEA does not stimulate these cancers as well. Women with breast cancer tend to have low levels of this hormone in their bodies. But replacement may lead to either inhibition or stimulation of growth of breast cancer cells.
Obviously this is quite a difficult issue, doping in general. I don’t think it can ever be eliminated or even significantly reduced. That being said, I still think we should try. In my opinion, we should continue to fight for that very unrealistic dream of “natural athletes”. I’d love to see what humans are really capable of, even though many would rather go back to an era of Blagoevs, Zlatevs, Suleymanoglus etc. And as for today, we should at least not give preferential treatments to anyone. Every time I hear a British/American low tier lifter whine about the “mighty, roided Russians” or shit like that my stomach turns. Like they’re fuckin clean. And people hate on the exceptional Russian lifters calin them out, while praising Xiaojun and Ilya, who are obiously doped af. It ain’t right.
